Returning to India

Returning to India

Our latest travel itinerary is pretty well a pure wildlife adventure – we are heading back to India, this time to focus almost exclusively on seeing and photographing tigers! (We hope!).

Having flown in to Delhi with Thai Airways via Bangkok, then on to Nagpur with Jet, we are now spending three days at each of central India’s three most famous tiger reserves – Pench, Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks, all of which are located in the central state of Madhya Pradesh.

All were chosen primarily because of their tiger densities and frequency of sightings, but they are also blessed by some wonderful accommodation options – in Pench we will be staying at Jamtara Wilderness Camp, in Kanha we will be experiencing Taj hospitality at Banjaar Tola Lodge, and in Bandhavgarh we will be at Relais & Chateaux’s Samode Safari Lodge.

To round out our trip, we will be heading back to Delhi, flying from Jabalpur with SpiceJet, and then overnighting at the luxurious Lodhi, where we have reservations at Indian Accent, the only Indian Restaurant to be mentioned on the 2017 World’s 50 Best Restaurants list (though technically it is number 68 in the 51 to 100 section), and number 19 in the 2018 World’s 50 Best Restaurants in Asia just announced last month.

We’ll keep you posted on our safari success…
